He is the child of late Albert Peiris who was a Radio Ceylon artiste of the 1940s. He learned at Buwanekaba Vidyalaya, Maharagama and the University of Visual and Performing Arts (previous Heywood Institute). He joined SLBC as an A-grade violinist, and in the end, turned into a music conductor, a music controller and, at the season of my retirement, he functioned as the Director, Music at SLBC. Amarasiri Peiris is a recompensed Singer in Sri Lanka regardless he performs in front of an audience. His first prevalent melody is “Landune” which was made by maestro Premasiri Khemadasa.
